The Rebirth Spoken Word Program at AMIKids Bennettsville has had a profound impact on the youth at the facility by teaching them emotional intelligence skills and providing them with healthy coping mechanisms to deal with the issues and emotions they are facing.
Through the program, the youth have been able to explore their feelings and express themselves through spoken word poetry. This has allowed them to process their emotions in a creative and therapeutic way, helping them to better understand and manage their feelings.
The program has also provided the youth with a safe space to openly discuss and address any unsettled issues or suppressed emotions they may be experiencing. By encouraging open and honest communication, the program has helped the youth to confront and work through their issues, leading to emotional growth and healing.
Additionally, the program has taught the youth how to effectively cope with their emotions in a healthy way. By providing them with tools and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other negative emotions, the program has empowered the youth to make positive choices and build resilience in the face of challenges.
One of the activities was to complete a given phrase by creating an original spoken word poem. They were broken into groups.
